tocadiscos ION LP!
Disfrute!

Description:
This Macross soundtrack is the complete 1 hour 55 minute Japanese
stereo audio recording of the whole movie.
In 1982 before DYRL was released onto LaserDisk or VHS,
you could only watch this movie at the local Japanese move theaters.
While listening to these DYRL drama edition LP records or tape
cassettes you could remember or imagine what the DYRL movie looked
like.  These days, we can just watch the remastered Macross: DYRL?
movie at our convenience.

The recorded LP audio does not exactly match up to the DYRL movie
due to the inconsistent speed of the ION LP record player.  There is
also the problem of LP hiss and the occasional pop inherent to all LP
recordings.  But, the sound quality and range of the LP audio does
sound better than the remastered DYRL movie audio.  If it is possible
to realign and deHiss the audio, then send me a PM through the forum,
thanks!

And thank you to T. Haverstock for his time and
loaning of the ION LP record player!
Enjoy!

Part 2 is lost according to megaupload.

Part 2 is available on MegaUpload! I just checked on that file now. I find that MegaUpload sometimes makes some files temporarily unavailable for download. Wait a couple of hours and try download the file again.
Or use you can jDownloader to automatically re-download the file.

The wav file format is totally unecessary. The source for the wav is a mp4a file, you can't get back what already is missing, just upload the files in mp3 format. Or record again at wav and don't change it anymore.

The LP was originally recorded in mp4a format on a Mac computer with EZ recorder software. I converted the mp4a to wav, so that the audio would not lose any audio quality and that I could attempt to re-edit the audio file later to better match the movie. You can convert the wav to mp3 if you like, but you will have an audio loss in quality.

Anonymous is right.
Converting mp4a to wav just made the files unnecessarily bigger.
The "audio quality" was lost when the original recording to mp4a was made. You basically started with lower* quality audio files and converted them to larger format files. Same sound quality, just way bigger.

* That is to say, relatively.

Damn it.
I have a DJ studio with nice turntables that don't drift in speed, an excellent encoder that can record direct to WAV, and decent needles. I would have loved to do this for you.

Granted... I probably would have kept that LP to myself and not returned it because I'm an envious, greedy bastard.
What an amazing find. So jealous!

Hello drop:

I did buy an ION usb LP player for myself because it was on sale at Future shop. Now, I'm thinking I should have gone for at least a Sony LP USB turntable. Audio drift is only an issue for me on this particular LP because I was hoping to use the audio as an alternate audio track for a Macross: DYRL video project.
I would not notice any audio drift if the songs were converted from the LP one at a time.

If you sincerely are interested in recording this Macross DYRL properly for sharing on Macrosshare , please provide pictures of your home recording studio to show that you have the proper equipment and your postal address, so that I can sell you this DYRL LP!

You contact me through the forum for details.

I was not able to listen or use the mp4a audio format on my video editing software, so I had to
convert the audio.
Next time, I will use my own ION LP usb turntable and try to record in wav format or just upload the mp4a format for sharing and then post a weblink to Formatfactory free conversion software.

Weblinks updated to Mediafire.
Drop expressed interest in making a high
quality version of this LP. I purchased an
extra copy of this LP from Yahoo Japan Auction,
so I could sell him my copy. We'll see if that
works out.
